1.
“Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words, that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths.” (Baha’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’lláh, p. 136)
2.
When a drop draws help from the ocean, it is an ocean in itself, and a little seed, through the outpouring of rain, the favor of the sun and the soul-refreshing breeze, will become a tree with the utmost freshness, full of leaves, blossoms and fruits. Therefore, do not consider thy capacity and merit, but rely upon the infinite bounty and trust to His Highness the Almighty. (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v3, p. 564)
3.
“If others hurl their darts against you, offer them milk and honey in return; if they poison your lives, sweeten their souls; if they injure you, teach them how to be comforted; if they inflict a wound upon you, be a balm to their sores; if they sting you, hold to their lips a refreshing cup.” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 24)
4.
“If any differences arise amongst you, behold Me standing before your face, and overlook the faults of one another for My name's sake and as a token of your love for My manifest and resplendent Cause. It is Our wish and desire that every one of you may become a source of all goodness unto men,…” (Baha’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’lláh, p. 314)
5.
“May this boundless love so fill your hearts and minds that sadness may find no room to enter and may you with joyful hearts soar like birds into the Divine Radiance.” (‘Abdu'l-Bahá, Paris Talks, p. 95)
6.
O Son of Man! Be thou content with me and seek no other helper. For none but Me can ever suffice thee. (Baha’u’lláh, The Arabic Hidden Words, #17 Free thyself from the fetters of this world, and loose thy soul from the prison of self. Seize thy chance, for it will come to thee no more. (Baha’u’lláh, The Persian Hidden Words, #40)
7.
Thou seest me, O my God, detached from all save Thee and cleaving unto Thee. Guide me, then, in all mine affairs unto that which profiteth me for the glory of Thy Cause and the loftiness of the station of thy loved ones. (Prayer by Bahá’u’lláh)
8.
“O thou who art turning thy face towards God! Close thine eyes to all things else, and open them to the realm of the All-Glorious. Ask whatsoever thou wishest of Him alone; seek whatsoever thou seekest from Him alone. With a look He granteth a hundred thousand hopes, with a glance He healeth a hundred thousand incurable ills, with a nod He layeth balm on every wound, with a glimpse He freeth the hearts from the shackles of grief. He doeth as He doeth, and what recourse have we? He carrieth out His Will, He ordaineth what He pleaseth. Then better for thee to bow down thy head in submission, and put thy trust in the All-Merciful Lord.” -‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 51
9.
I am poor, O my Lord, and Thou art the Rich. I have set my face towards Thee, and detached myself from all but Thee. Remove the veil from mine eyes, O my Lord… Deprive me not, I implore Thee, of the breezes of Thy tender mercy, and withhold not from me what Thou didst ordain for the chosen among Thy servants. Enrapture my soul, O my Lord, with Thy most mighty signs, and draw me out of the depths of my corrupt and evil desires… Potent art Thou to do what pleaseth Thee. No God is there but Thee, the All-Glorious, Whose help is sought by all men. I yield Thee thanks, O my Lord, that Thou hast wakened me from my sleep, and stirred me up, and created in me the desire to perceive what most of Thy servants have failed to apprehend. Make me able, therefore, O my Lord, to behold, for love of Thee and for the sake of Thy pleasure, whatsoever Thou hast desired. (Baha’u’lláh, Prayers and Meditations by Baha’u’lláh, p. 215-216)
10.
“Wouldst thou have Me, seek none other than Me; and wouldst thou gaze upon My beauty, close thine eyes to the world and all that is therein; for My will and the will of another than Me, even as fire and water, cannot dwell together in one heart.” (Baha'u'lláh, The Persian Hidden Words #31)
11.
“We must look higher than all earthly thoughts; detach ourselves from every material idea, crave for the things of the spirit;…” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks, p. 39) “Let nothing grieve thee, and be thou angered at none.” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 25) “When calamity striketh, be ye patient and composed.” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 73) “Be thou not unhappy; the tempest of sorrow shall pass; regret will not last; disappointment will vanish;…” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v3, p. 557)
12.
“Lay not on any soul a load which ye would not wish to be laid upon you, and desire not for any one the things ye would not desire for yourselves.” "No sometáis a ningún alma a una carga a la que no quisierais ser sometidos vosotros, y no le deseéis a nadie lo que no desearíais para vosotros mismos." (Baha’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’lláh, p. 128)
13.
“May this boundless love so fill your hearts and minds that sadness may find no room to enter and may you with joyful hearts soar like birds into the Divine Radiance.” (‘Abdu'l-Bahá, Paris Talks, p. 95)
